The crane as it arrived at the Museum. Notice that it lacks its vertical boiler and its jib.

The self propelled crane seen as it arrived from storage at the Tanfield Railway. It lacks its vertical boiler and jib and has clearly been in store for a long time. It fits well with the Quarry Museum which has many different kinds of excavators and cranes on display.

View of the crane in detail shows this bevel gear shaft lying loose on the deck of the crane. Is this the missing bevel gear, part of the drive mechanism to the railway wheels?

View underneath the crane shows the straight cut bevel gear on the axle shaft. The corresponding bevel gear is missing, but the bracket that supported it may be in the centre of the photo
