The loco was completed at Stafold Barn, Staffordshire to a Kerr Stuart 'Wren' design. When Kerr Stuart closed in 1930, their designs passed to the Hunslet Engine Co. of Leeds. The company name and rights were bought by LH Group in 2004 who issued this works plate on the new build loco, keeping tradition alive.
