Running in early British Railways blue livery, 'Tornado' attacks the 1 in 49 gradient at Darnholme on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway at the head of the 09.30 train from Grosmont in October 2013. The blue livery suits the loco so well.

On a 'Spring' event of March 8th 2018 a day of snow, sun and rain , 60163 'Tornado storms past Grosmont loco depot with the 12.40 departure for Pickering. It was raining heavily at Grosmont, but by the time it had climbed up to Goathland it had turned to snow again!

'Tornado' photographed at Loughborough shed on the Great Central Railway on 5th October 2024. The locomotive was at the Great Central for running in after overhaul and initial testing of ETCS cab signalling equipment which will be required on all trains working out of King's Cross station at some point in the near future.

'Tornado' at the new Beaulieu Park Station in Essex on 27th October 2025. 'Tornado' was the first steam locomotive to visit Beaulieu Park, the first new station to be built on the Great Eastern Mainline in over 100 years

Two East Coast legends meet at The Nene Valley Railway's 'Best of British, East Coast Legends' event on 11th July 2026. 60163 'Tornado' meets Deltic 55009 'Alycidon' during the event. Both are 100mph capable machines representing different eras of the East Coast Main Line motive power.
