After further research my best guess was that the engine was used by the BAP co at their asphalt plant in South Amboy NJ . BAP had a large plant on the waterfront there that produced asphalt for the East coast. However it appears this engine was used to haul creosote posts from the plant down to the dock for shipping. Windows were also replaced .

The engine is stored and has been cosmetically restored green red and black paint from Anthonys Pier 4 has been cleaned and touched up. Missing lights piping steam gauge whistle and bell have been added. Headlight repaired. BAP who was the original owner that was on the builders plate is Barber Asphalt and Paving. They were the J P Morgans of the asphalt business having paved most of Washington DC Philadelphia and alot of the East Coast cities. They later expanded out west and had their own railroad in Utah to mine aggregates. This engine hauled stone from quarrysfrom a location that im not yet sure of. It is in fine shape.

I visited the locomotive periodically this year. She is in excellent shape, all of her brass fittings save her whistle are there and intact. I opened her mudhole doors, found the boiler internals to be in a satisfactory state and then shut them again. I treated all small moving parts with penotration oil and they are working again. The locomotive, as of September, has been repainted quite nicely.
