The location listed for this locomotive is incorrect. It is actually located in East Park, Mason City, Iowa

Your photo of M&StL 457 is printed mirror image.  The air compressor is on the left or fireman's side.  The locomotive has been completely (but only cosmetically) restored, its enclosure enlarged, the track reballasted, wired for sound and wired for light.  Go to http://www.friendsofthe457.org/ for more information.

The "Alco-Schenectady Construction Number List" indicates that Construction Numbers 52300 through 52309, 52395 & 52396, Road Numbers 450 through 461, were shipped to the "Minneapolis & St. Louis" during December of 1912.
