Located off the parking lot of the Akagway musium. 195 is in poor shape. Just sitting there with a few other cars behind her. You can miss seeing her as she is behind a row of trees. The number 195 on her side is almost gone.

Rode the White Pass train in September 2013 ! #195 is peeking out of the bushes and trees now with no more paint. I look at my picture of it and wish it could tell me stories !

From 1st October 1942 to 1st May 1946 the WP&YR was operated by the 770th Railway Operating Batallion. To enlarge the available locomotive fleet, 10 Baldwin 2-8-2s (Nos. 190-199)were diverted from Iran to Skagway and converted from Metre Gauge to 3 foot gauge. They helped to support the construction of the Alaska Highway. No. 195 was one of these.

I recently (8-29-07) rode the White Pass and took a photo of Locomotive No. 195. She's a little rusty, but still looks good (from a distance).

Just returned from a visit to Skagway, Alaska. June 2, 2006. Engine 195 appears stripped of paint and accessories; and the boiler, pistons & running-gear have acquired considerable rust..

This engine and its sister engines were never desiigned or destained for Iran. Despite rumors and stories.

You are absolutely correct. I don't know how the error happened, but the database has been corrected. Thank you very much for your input!

Ok engines #190, #192, #195 are all the same. How come the tractive effort for #195 is different. And the cylinders are different. The tractive effort should be 20,100 and cylinder size 16x24
