ÖBB No.398.01 was NÖLB No.23 (1905 - 1908) and Uh.1 (1908 - 1922), retaining that identity with BBÖ (1922 - 1928). It became No.Bh.1 with the latter company (1928 - 1938); then No.99 811 with the DRB (1938 - 1945) and ÖStB (1945 - 1953), becoming No.398.01 with the ÖBB from 1953. It has reverted to No.Bh1 in preservation in the Murtalbahn fleet.
