OeBB No. 2 Sierning (298.102) appears to the oldest locomotive in the ÖGEG collection, being originally delivered to the original Steyrtalbahn as their No. 2, and named Sterning in 1888 and retaining that identity for five decades. It also became BBÖ No. 2 (1937 - 1938) before absorbtion by the DRB as No. 98.7831 (1938 - 1945) and continued in the guise with the ÖStB (1953 - 1973) until it was renumberd 298.102 by the ÖBB and into preservation with the ÖBB, again on the Steyrtalbahn.
