This loco is in fact AE 1244 of 1879. It still carries both worksplates confirming this, and is in service at Paraguaçu Paulista.

My Avonside works list shows that AE 1290-1314 of 1880 were 0-6-0s for the East Indian Railway Nos 581-605 . Indian Locomotives Part 1 Broad gauge Hugh Hughes 1990, the standard work on Indian locos has the same information stating they were class C later 305-329 so the details appear to be incorrect.
