As of August 2021, Number 1 currently sits in storage. Her funnel is capped and she is without a tender. She was not operable when I visited the CP&LE in 2021. I hope she returns to steam soon. She is my favorite engine I was sad to see her in the condition she was in.

Fuel should be changed to coal. The MAWP is 180 but we only run her at 100 lbs. I will try to get a current pic upload.

The davenport was moved to Cedar Point in early 2010. It is currently being converted from a 2-4-4T oil-fired engine to a 2-4-0 coal-fired engine by the Cedar Point engine crew.

This locomotive is not Davenport #2081.  Most of #2081 was still located at Mackie-Clemens years after this locomotive left there.  The remains included the boiler, cab, saddle tank, and the back portion of the frames.  The cylinders were cut off of the #2081 and along with the wheel sets (which were removed for repairs in the 1950s) were taken and probably used to convert what was the unknown Std. gauge 0-4-0 Davenport at the tipple site north of Mulberry.  That locomotive left with the other narrow gauge locomotives.  This would then be the that conversion.  If she has the original boiler then the builders number will be stamped in the backhead to the left of the fire door.  I have seen the #2081 stamped in the backhead of the remains at Mackie-Clemens.  Also the #55 is the Mackie-Clemens number.  They numbered all of their locomotives in double digits such as 55, 88, etc.

Mackie-Clemens also had a Vulcan of 10x16 or 11x16 size that has not shown up on anyones list.  She was cut up for scrap and I now have her frames in my shop.  There is one more of these dinkys sitting under water in a strip mine pit with a train of cars in that area.  I have not seen it but I have talked to divers from Pittsburg that have visited it.

This engine is now under restoration in the shops and will return to service when enough money is in the budget.

An update to original ownership of this engine.  Pittsburg was in Kansas, not Pennsylvania (unless Davenport had one FIRST CLASS salesman selling engines in Baldwin/Porter territory!!).  N&S Coal was in Mulberry, a wide spot in the road 8 miles from Pittsburg, Kansas, and probably had a Pittsburg address in 1927.  Probably the engine never moved.  I'm assuming Mackie Clemens (which still exists) simply bought N&S Coal and the engine along with it.  For a while there was a rumor that this engine was named Elizabeth at Cedar Point.  Randy Catri (supintendent of the Cedar Point and Lake Erie RR) tells me this is false.  It has no name at the present time, just a number 1 on its smokebox.  The name confusion probably came from the fact that a sister Mackie Clemens engine was named Elizabeth at Opryland.

The picture of this engine in the shop would have been taken at Shop Services.  The cab in front of it belongs to Melodia, the Porter/Crown from Carowinds which is now in California.  In all likelihood, the 42" drivers showing at the left (behind some crates) might have belonged to Michael Jackson's Crown 4-4-0, also from Carowinds.

I think this is the engine I saw inside Buckeye Boiler in Dayton, OH in 1975 or 1976. Perhaps Keystone was working on it there, or perhaps George Roose owned it for a while (International Amusement Co., Dayton) before Keystone acquired it. Was delivered to Marriott at Gurnee in 1980. Stayed in crate, never ran there. For sale in 1983 for $90,000. Did not sell at that time. Was still on property when park was sold to Six Flags in 1984. Restored for Bill Norred around 1991 at Shop Services for a Victorian Village he was going to build in Southern California. He instead traded it to Disney who ran it in 1997 at Walt Disney World. Traded to Cedar Point in 1999. Currently stored in back of Cedar Point enginehouse unaltered and unused.
