Tanana Valley Railroad locomotive #1, is now housed in the new TVRR museum/and locomotive shop, operated by the Friends of the TVRR, in Pioneer Park, Fairbanks, Alaska. The new museum houses displays of the history of the TVRR which were completed in September 2007 and the locomotive when it is not operating. FTVRR has preserved a TVRR narrow gauge speeder, velocipede and other equipment from Alaska's smaller Railroads. We generally operate #1, and carry passengers on the Pioneer Park track on various summer local and national holidays such as Memorial Day, 4th July etc, between Memorial day weekend and labor Day weekend. Our Museum is open everyday Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend 11: AM to 8:00 PM. See the FTVRR webpage ftvrr.org for information on charters, and other operation times and for contacting the FTVRR. In the late Fall of 2006, we started operating locomotive #1 for a very steam filled, Halloween "Spooktacular", the steam makes great clouds of fog when at below freezing conditions and operated in the snow. See the FVTRR web page for more pictures.
