Locomotive is deteriorating and has had the gate that gives access to it relocked in the last year. Broken windows, the paint is getting rough and missing parts have been noted.

I ran by this train often in Mobile while I attended the University of S. Al. I never knew the number until one day I made a mental note to see it and remember it. Ever since then it (1527) has been a reminder to me to take time to observe the things around me.

Just went to see this engine. It has is being repainted at this time. 9/1/2007
