When I spoke to engineer now operating Reader #2 in Florida and the conductor who was on the railroad when the Reader #4 was operating they informed me the #4 technically is operational, but needs a lot of repair. The crew says it would be nice for the #4 to return, but right now she is in Reader, AR undergoing maintence. I believe she is missing her "bells and whistles", such as her bell, whistle, etc. But supposedly she is operational currently, and can be steamed, but is not ready to run.

This locomotive is now at home in Reader AR, it is owned by Reader RR. The D&R never owned it, they leased it.

This locomotive is no longer in Florida, having been retrieved by its owners and now stored at Dardanelle, AR, on the Dardanelle & Russellville Railroad.

Various accounts indicate that this railroad has ceased operations. The current location and status of the locomotive is unknown.
