The 2295 was in the Union Pacific production of "Last of the Giants". It was being used as the example of double-heading locomotives. Great to see her in steam!

The "Alco-Brooks Construction Number List" indicates that Construction Numbers 61924 through 61939, Road Numbers 2295 through 2310, were shipped to "Union Pacific" during July of 1920. All of the units were 2-8-2's with a "Specified" total weight of 300,000 (This is not necessarily the "Actual" total weight).

Overland Models is producing an HO scale version of #2295 in 2005. An interesting note is that the prototype #2295 locomotive has what's termed a "bay window" on the engineer's side. That's really is a cold weather window that sticks out just a few inches more than a regular cab window. Very few locomotives were equipped with that particular type of window.

The locomotive was built in 1920, not 1924.
