As far as I can gather, this engine has been painted and is currently sitting outside the station at French Lick. It appears to be intact except for the fact that it is missing its smokestack.

I'm sure the owners would welcome your certified check for payment in full to begin the work.

This engine was one of the last steam locos to remain in revenue freight service in the U.S. Pleae restore this beautiful locomotive ASAP. It would be a real shame never to see it back in steam.

Loco was purchased in 1974 (presumably from the M&G) by the Ocean City Western and operated in excursion service on the Berlin-West Ocean City, Md. line for the 1974 season.  It fell  into disrepair in 1975, and was sold to the French Lick, West Baden & Southern in December 1978.

David Farlow of the Whitewater Valley Railroad supplied the following information:

This engine is very far from operational and hasn't been in steam for well over 10 years.  Anyone thinking it is operational is being far too optimistic.  Alan Barnett at IRM could give details on repairs needed, but they are substantial.  I don't think it should be listed as operational, it is restorable though.

During mid 1970's the engine worked on the Western Atlantic City railroad(?) in Maryland.
