5632 has been cosmetically kept up over the years. I was part of the MSU Trust For Railway Preservation team that did work on it. At the time we noted that Richard Jensen obtained permission from the city of Durand to remove certain parts for use on 5629 that they be returned. He removed the bearing brass from the rear truck journals and they were never replaced. The MSU Trust For Railway Preservation now located in Owosso has had conversation with the City of Durand to restore the GTW 5632 to my knowledge no agreement has been worked out.

The one that was cut up was the 5629, owned by Dick Jensen.  5632 was retired in 1958, and has been on display in Durand since 1961

I Thought the GTW 5632 was cut up for scrap metal in 1988! Is the engine in the photo the real thing, or a new boiler on the wheelframe??
