The D&NE 28 has been moved back to Duluth and is in the shops at the Lake Superior Railroad Museum. They hope to have steam in the boiler sometime this coming summer.

According to one source at the Lake Superior Railroad Museum, D&NE #28 was being restored to operation to replace Soo Line 2719, it is expected to be completed in 2014. It is coming at minimal cost to the museum, as Cloquet Terminal Railroad and the Friends of the 261 were helping with the restoration.
