The St. Louis San Francico Railroad received twentyfive Northern type locomotives from Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1943. This group was mix of coal burners and oil burners. The oil burners were assigned to passenger service (4500 through 4502), and the coal burners assigned to fast freight service. No.  4500 is being cosmeticly restored by Townwest Sertoma Club Tulsa, Oklahoma<

The 4500 is acutally at Owasso, OK at the end of a Y leg that is not attached to live rail. A group in Tulsa is trying to work out a place to display the engine around the Riverside Park area.  A restoration was started but failed.  The engine is not too pretty right now.  We hope they can complete the plans for a display.  The Oklahoma Railway Museum in OKC has offered to take the engine and make cosmetic work so it can be displayed, however the City of Tulsa is working with a local group for a park display in Tulsa.  January 17, 2004.
