Sadly due to a leaking boiler tube, the visit of ex Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Ironclad 0-6-0 No. 52044, to the Spa Valley Railway for their Easter Steam Up Event has had to be postponed. The Spa Valley hopes to rearrange the visit when the locomotive is back in service in the not-too-distant future.

The ex Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Ironclad 0-6-0 No. 52044, is to visit the Spa Valley Railway for the first time during April 2025 and will be operating trains there on 5th, 6th, 12th, 13th, 18th, 19th, 20th & 21st April. On the Easter weekend from the 18th to 21st No. 52044 will join fellow Victorian locomotive, the ex Caledonian Railway 812 Class Standard 0-6-0 Goods No. 828, on loan from the Strathspey Railway in Scotland for a series of special service trains and possible double heading as well then.

No. 52044 has now returned to the Worth Valley following its visit to the East Lancashire Railway. During its stay there, it has been fitted with a new Hughes style smokebox door.

Russell, Im afraid you got it wrong again. 52044 visited the Manchester Museum of Science and Industry back in 2009 for their Beyer Peacock event.

The ex Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Ironclad 0-6-0 No. 52044 will be making her first ever visit away from the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway for time in prservation to visit the East Lancashire Railway for their Autumn Steam Gala from the 14th to 16th of October 2022.

The ex Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Ironclad 0-6-0 No. 957 has been repainted into BR Black livery with its British Railways running Number No. 52044.

The ex Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Ironclad 0-6-0 No. 957 is now back in service following completion of its overhaul. The locomotive will enter service at the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway over the bank holiday weekend on the 28th to 30th of August 2021. Which will mark the 50th anniversary of "The Railway Children" film then which No. 957 starred in as "The Green Dragon" and the locomotive has been painted back into its film livery for this and will carry it until the end of the year. After which the locomotive will be repainted into British Railways Black livery with its BR running Number 52044.

The former Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Ironclad 0-6-0 No. 957 is to be painted back in the Green Livery it had on for the of "The Green Dragon" in the 1970 Railway Children film when it returns to traffic for the 50th anniversary of the film in 2020.
