The ex GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 4150, has just become the 154th ex-Barry Scrapyard locomotive to be restored. As it underwent a successful light engine test run along the Severn Valley Railway as far as Highley and back to Bridgnorth. No. 4150 will undergo more test runs and running-in trials before painting and entering service very soon and is expected to take part in the Severn Valley Railway’s Autumn Steam Gala from the 17th to 20th of September 2026.

The restoration of the ex GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 4150, has now been completed as the locomotive was steamed for the first time in over 61 years and marking the end of the last of the Barry Scrapyard locomotives restored at the Severn Valley Railway. No. 4150 will undergo more steam tests and start being tested and run-in before entering service at the railway soon.

The restoration of the ex GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 4150, from Barry Scrapyard condition is now in its fianl stages of completion at the Severn Valley Railway with the locomotive expected to steam very soon. No. 4150 is the last steam locomotive to be restored from Dai Woodham Scrapyard at the Severn Valley Railway when completed.

The restoration of the ex GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 4150, is now nearing compeletion as the locomotive is set to make its debute in traffic in preservation for the first time during the Severn Valley Railway’s Spring Steam Gala from the 16th to 19th of April 2026.

The restoration of the ex GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 4150, is now in its final stages at the Severn Valley Railway as its first fire has been lit in its firebox for the first time in 60 years in readiness for its first steam test.

The ex GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 4150 which the last steam locomotive under restoration from Barry Scrapyard condition at the Severn Valley Railway has been relocated to the Severn Valley Railway’s main Bridgenorth Shed in Shropshire for the final stages of its restoration.
